Woody Mitchem

Woody Mitchem, 63, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at his home.  He was born on June 18, 1960 in West Virginia to Samuel Alfred and Laffon Brown Mitchem.  He spent his childhood in West Virginia and the Amory area.  He had worked as a mechanic to Eutaw Construction and was of the Baptist faith.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating.  

He is survived by a son, Chris Mitchem (Christy); stepson, Brandon Murff; daughter, Cindy Mitchem; two brothers, Dale Mitchem and David Mitchem; 6 sisters, Edith McQuillan, Barbara Lewis, Mary Gorbutt, Debbie Davis, Cathy Krausa, and Sarah Mitchem; and a grandchild, Cameron Mitchem.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Fairlena Mitchem and Wilma Redden; 3 brothers, James, Danny Joe, and Douglas Mitchem; and grandchild, Shelbie Mitchem.
