Winford Laver Holmes

Bartlett, TN- Winford was born on May 27, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee. He went home to be with the Lord on July 7,2015 after a boating accident in the Tombigbee River in Monroe County, Mississippi. He spent many years working as a master machinist and worked as a truck driver. Winford leaves behind 3 daughters, Stephanie Holmes Easley, Monica Holmes Harrison, and Mary Jo Wilson; his grandchildren, Courtney McCurdy, Cody Harrison and Kaitlyn Harrison; his brother-in-law, Virgil Edwards, Sr.; nephews, Virgil Edwards, Jr, and Jeffrey Edwards, and niece, Judy Edwards Paine, as well as many other family members that will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his father, Winford Laver Holmes, Sr, his mother, Mabel Pratt Holmes, and his sister, Martha Holmes Edwards. Winford graduated from Bartlett High School in 1965. Family and friends with gather on October 11, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. for a memorial of his life at the home of his cousin, Betty Matthews in Belden, Mississippi.
