Walter O. Myatt

Walter Okes Myatt, 86, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Diversicare in Tupelo. He was born in Sunflower County on March 1, 1934 to the late William and Ismay Myatt. After school, Walter lived a number of years before returning to North Mississippi. He married Ann Harris Myatt in i

1986. Walter retired from Mississippi Valley Gas. He enjoyed showing and raising horses, camping, woodworking and riding motorcycles. He loved being with his family and attended Freedom Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Gray Langley (Jacky), Fulton; stepsons, Corey Gray (Candie), Fulton and Casey Gray; brother, Bill Oakes (Donna), Memphis; grandchildren, Kason Langley, Kaiden, Kahlie and Laynie Gray; Sailor Brook Gray; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Ray Tutor and Roger Riley.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Rickey Myatt.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, July10, 2021 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Scott George officiating. Burial will follow in Turon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday evening at the funeral home from 5-7 PM.
