Virginia “Sweetie” Ann Wright, 68, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Amory. She was born on December 3, 1952 in Nettleton to Lindy “Piggy” and Dorothy Thompson Harlow. She was a graduate of Nettleton High School and for many years she was a route carrier for the Daily Journal. She married Rex Wright. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who loved to garden and can her vegetables. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2021 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Rev. Jordan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Haughton Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Rex Wright of Nettleton; one son, Scottie Wright of Nettleton; one daughter, Kristy Cates (David) of Amory; two brothers, Terry “Tubb” Harlow (Gail) of Amory and Jerry Harlow (Aletha) of Nettleton; sisters, Kathy Fennell (Cloyce) of Nettleton, Deborah Wilkinson (Tommy) of Aberdeen, Tammy Harlow (Anthony) of Myrtle, Patsy Parker of Nettleton, and Katie Lovette (David) of Texas; three grandchildren, Cody Cates (Jasmine), Harley Cates (Noah), and Dixie Wright; two great grandchildren, Reed Steele and River Cates; and sisters-in-law, Tarica Rowe (Jamie) of Nettleton and Pennie Sneed of Nettleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Candy Ann Wright.
Pallbearers will be Cody Cates, Zack Parker, Noah Lawson, Austin Wright, Dalton Wright, and Rodney Rowe. Mike Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be on Saturday evening from 5 until 7 p.m.
