It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Virginia Frances Coker, 86, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, after a battle with cancer. A loving mother, cherished grandmother, and an unwavering beacon of love and joy, she was born on January 13, 1939, in Bells, TN to Johnny Hugh and Edna Mae Blackburn Jernigan. Virginia dedicated her life to her family, providing a nurturing and supportive environment filled with love and laughter. She enjoyed spending precious moments with her family, whether it was around the dinner table sharing stories or engaging in heartfelt conversations over a cup of coffee. Her warmth and kindness touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
An avid gardener, Virginia found peace and fulfillment tending to her beautiful blooms which were a testament to her gentle spirit and keen eye for beauty. She often shared the richness of her garden with friends and family, creating a legacy of love throughout her colorful flowers and vivid greenery. She also enjoyed the challenge of a crossword puzzle, finding joy and stimulation in the playful dance of words. Her sharp mind matched her quick wit, and she often sparkled with laughter as she shared her puzzle-solving feats with family. Embodying her unwavering faith, Virginia devoted herself to the spreading of the love of the Lord, inspiring those around her with her deep-seated compassion and wisdom. She believed in the power of kindness and actively sought opportunities to uplift others, always extending a helping hand wherever she could. Though she has departed from our sight, she will live forever in our hearts and be remembered lovingly for her kind heart, nurturing spirit, and insatiable zest for life. To carry on the mission of love, hope, and faith, Virginia’s spirit will bloom in the lives of her loved ones just like the garden she cherished so deeply.
