Vanessa Pargo Marsh, 60, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. She was born on March 23, 1958 in Amory to Robert Lee and Jennie Mae Pargo. Vanessa attended Amory High School and upon graduating in 1976, she attended Rust College and earned a bachelor’s degree in education. She was a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma Service Sorority, a member of the Royal Chapter #30 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and The Rev. Low Down the Angels.
A dedicated and hard worker for many years, she most currently worked for Gilmore Memorial Hospital Environmental Services serving in many job capacities. At an early age, she confessed Christ under the leadership of Rev. H.M. Morton and united with St. Paul M.B. Church where she remained a faithful member until her passing. She was a member of the #2 Usher Board, the gospel choir, the #3 Sunday school class, and the praise team. Everyone knew her for her big and giving heart always exemplifying the love of Christ. Deeply devoted to her family, she loved her children and grandchildren with all of her heart.
Funeral services for Vanessa will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the St. Paul M.B. Church in Amory with Pastor Lesley Mabry officiating. Burial will be in the United Memorial Cemetery in Amory. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Vanessa leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Renford Marsh, Sr; her daughter Markeeta Marsh both of Amory; son, Renford Marsh, Jr. (Brittany) of Plano, TX; step-son, Christopher Walton of Amory; grandchildren, Keion Marsh and Keionna Thompson; her sisters Pattlynn Davis (Louis) of Chicago, Marsha Brantley, Vela Williams (Ted) and Jennifer Pargo of Amory; her brother, Robert Pargo (Vivian) of Amory and Ellis Pargo (Janet) of Goodyear, AZ; sisters-in-law, Leona Marsh, Darlene Pruitt (Frank), and Doris Standifer (Jodice); brothers-in-law, Clarence Marsh, Jr., Robert Marsh, James Marsh, and Charlie Marsh all of Amory; her god-child, Addison Devens; her aunts, Ella Jane Marzette of St. Louis, Savannah Pargo, and Edith Barnes of Amory; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friend, Taylor (Pop) Hadley; and a host of dedicated friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; her brother, Juris Pargo; and sisters, Brenda Pargo Anderson and June Bonnier.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 3 until 5 p.m. with the family hour from 5 until 6 p.m. followed by the Eastern Star.
