Charles T. “Tommy” Harmon, 72, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born in Amory August 9, 1952, in Amory to Charles H. Harmon and Martha Stoddard Crisp. Tommy graduated Amory High School in 1971 and in October of the same year, he enlisted in the Army National Guard.  He reported to the Amory Army National guard unit out of basic training, then the West Point unit, then the Tupelo Aviation unit, then the Aberdeen engineering unit while being full time at Tupelo National Guard Field Maintenance Shop (FMS#1) serving until his retirement in August 2012. He married the love of his life, the former Ramona Waters on February 14, 1981, and he worked in construction as a roofer for many years. In his early years, he had worked for Scribner Equipment Co. Tommy was a trusted friend who would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed help. Often, he would drop what he was doing to lend a helping hand. He loved his dog, Cocoa who was a faithful companion for many years and he was a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church. 

 A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Hatley with Bro. Danny Carl Burks and Bro. Stanley Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Fellowship Cemetery. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, Ramona Harmon, he is survived by 4 sons, Shawn Harmon (Shelbie), Las Vegas, NV, Tommy “TJ” Harmon (Morgan), Amory, Andy Harmon (Crissy), Amory, and Chip Harmon (Melanie), Amory; daughter, Misty Robbins (Scott), St. Johns, FL; grandchildren, Brody, Tanner, and Tucker Harmon, Natalie Flippo (Ashton), Aiden and Kaitlyn Robbins, McKinnlie Harmon, Amorie Harmon, Magnolia Harmon, Drew Harmon, Arron Harmon, Cooper Harmon, Tripp Harmon, Libby Harmon, Brittni Edwards (Matt), Taylor Ferguson (Lee Michael), and Kimberly Renfro (Cody); several great grandchildren; aunt, Mary Ann Simmons; cousins, Paula Ainsworth, Sandy Buckhart (Charles), Melissa Aldridge (Richard), and Randy Harmon (Cindy); sister-in-law, Bonnie Canter, Williston, FL; special friends, Rufus and Pam Palmer, Jerry and Janice Langford, Rodney and Teresa Langford, Ben and Peggy Cother, Al and Kay White, Mike and Ann Beasley, Roger Riley, Teddy Thompson, Donny Smith, Roger Upton, Rodney Langford, Larry Goudelock, Bobby Camp, Jack Alumbaugh, former Scribner work family, and Shawn’s military buddies.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Linda Harmon Scott.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Camp, Randy Harmon, Bryan Owen, Roger Upton, Rufus Palmer, Mike Reeves, Donnie Smith, Jerry Langford, and Mike Beasley. Honorary pallbearer will be Roger Riley and Teddy Thompson. 

Visitation will be on Saturday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; Friend of God, Bethel Apostolic Church; or to Celebrate Recover, Grace Fellowship Baptist Church.
