Timothy Lee Chaney, 37, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home. Born on November 3, 1981 in Amory, Tim grew up in Amory and attended Hatley High School where he played on the football and baseball teams. He married Donna West on March 7, 2007. A gifted carpenter, Tim worked with Monty Young Construction for several years and he worked as a brick mason before he became disabled. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, and arrowhead hunting and he also liked to bowl. His favorite time was spent with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He attended Smithville Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Tim will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes and Bro. Wes White officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Nettleton.
Survivors include his biological mother, Annette Kathy Krausa (Walter) of Aberdeen; biological father, Timothy Pettus; wife, Donna Chaney of Smithville; one son, James Dearman; 3 daughters, Cassandra Tipton (Mark Smith) of Laurel, Christina Graham (John Lopez) of Smithville, and Cassie Taylor (Eric) of Smithville; one brother, Michael Dean of Aberdeen; 5 sisters, Ashley Chaney of Columbus, Kathy Chaney of CO, and Crystal Roberts of GA, Lori Harris, and Nicole Ashley Pettus; special friend and caregiver, Malarie Sanderson of Smithville; 11 grandchildren, Trey Dearman, Chyenne Dearman, Christian Hall, Will Moore, Emory Moore, Joseph Smith, Allie Graham, Brooklyn Lopez, Kailyn Taylor, Emmalyn Taylor, Aleena Dearman, and Haven Dearman; nieces and nephews, Rylan, Morgan and Callie Chaney, Chloe and Austin Dean, Sam, Arlee, Trent Sanderson, Anna, Joseph Roberts, Ricky Roberts, Mason Harris, Sean Pettus, Blaine Pettus, Shannon Drew Pettus, and many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Mary Chaney; grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Edgil; and an uncle, Jerry Chaney.
Pallbearers will be Eric Taylor, Wayne West, Joe West, Mark Smith, William Moore, John Lopez, and Bobby Sanderson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12:45 at the funeral home on Saturday.
