Ted Valentine

Ted Stennett Valentine, 77, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, at his home.  Ted was born on January 21, 1945, in Laurel, MS to Timothy Haskins and Edna Stennett Valentine.   He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in civil engineering.  For 38 years, he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville and then worked for the Columbus Air Force Base for several years.  Ted married Betty Easter in 2001 and enjoyed playing golf, restoring old cars, and brilliantly worked on tedious projects. He loved his grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Pastor Greg Huguley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hatley Cemetery.  

He is survived by his wife, Betty Valentine of Fulton; his son, Brian Valentine (Kristie) of Fulton; stepdaughters, Rachel Prestidge of Aberdeen and Kim Fretwell (Eric) of Aberdeen; three brothers, Charlie Valentine (Jackie) of North August, SC, Guy Valentine (Teresa), and Mike Valentine; sisters, Nila Wicker (Darrell) of North Augusta, SC, Sandra Byrd (Eddie) of Simpsonville, SC, and Yvonne Munn (Gene) of North Augusta, SC; 6 grandchildren, C.J. Valentine (Maddie), Hailey Valentine (Payton), Trinity Valentine, Karsun Caldwell (Jenna), Austin Fretwell (Linda), and Landon Fretwell.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Brent Valentine, Joe Joe Valentine, Jerry Valentine, and his parents.

Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
