Carolyn Sue Burnett Plunkett, 73, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born on October 5, 1951 in Clanton, AL, she was a daughter to Louis Thomas and Clara Mae Sturdivant Burnett. On April 13, 1971, she married Clinton Ray Plunkett whom she loved dearly and was a great provider who worked for the General Services Administration. With Ray’s job, he and Sue transferred all over the southeastern United States, finally settling in Memphis. Ray passed away while living in Memphis, causing Sue to move back to Amory to be closer to her brother and sister-in-law. Of all the places she lived, Ft. Lauderdale, FL was her favorite. Unable to have her own children, she had many pets over the years that she considered her children. Sue was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, and she attended Meadowood Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Lloyd Sweatt and Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in the James Creek Cemetery.
