Sharon Laird

Sharon A. Laird, 88, passed away from this life on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Amory. She was born on June 19, 1936 in Oakland, CA to Arthur and Florence A. Frisbee Cavanaugh. Sharon was married James Robert Laird, who died in 1990. After his passing, she continued the family business operating Laird’s Stationery. Although born in California, she lived in Washington but often questioned, “How did I get to Mississippi.” 

Per her request, there will be no services.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Karen Tennison (Steven) of Amory; one son, Robert Laird of Washington; 3 grandchildren, Sean McKillop, Ryan McKillop (Barbara), and Matthew McKillop (Kate); great grandchildren, Sophie McKillop, Connor McKillop, Mason McKillop, Kenady Kreiger, Adaylynn Damon, Carter McKillop, and Brooks McKillop; her best friend since high school, Alberta Strelow of Arizona and friend Judy Klassen of Washington.

A special thank you is extended to the staff of Creekside of Salitllo and to Diversicare Nursing Home for their care given to Mrs. Laird.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband.
