Shair Griffin Adams

January 21, 1958 — June 2, 2023

Wren

Shair Donidan Griffin-Adams “Boney” was born January 21, 1958 to the late Rev. John T. Griffin and Zelda Mae Green-Griffin in Wren, MS.  She departed this life to her heavenly home on June 2, 2023, and transitioned at North Mississippi Medical Center.

On April 14, 1978, she entered into holy matrimony with J.B. Adams and together they had four amazing children.

She was a 1978 graduate of Amory High School.  She was employed with Tecumseh Products for 28 years.  In that time she gained many friends.  She enjoyed reading and gardening, especially growing tomatoes.  She had the biggest and most beautiful tomatoes in Wren.  She was a home chef with skills that would make one wonder if she had formal training.  She loved to incorporate and experiment with the bounty of her harvest to give her family the most memorable meals.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Mr. J.B. Adams, her husband of 45 years; her four children, Tonya (Michael William) of Amory, Clarisse Adams of Wren, Yannta Adams of Okolona, and Tyje Adams of Wren; and five grandchildren, Ajaysia Williams, Michael Williams, II, Tobias Williams, Jamison Tumblin and Ke’asia Standifer.

She leaves two sisters, Jeanette (Louis) Harper, Geraldine (Ellie) Terry, and John Russell (Melanie) Griffin all of Wren, Doris (Mike) Lipsey of Pontotoc, Wilbert Kyles, Jr., Lyndon (Shanie) Kyles, Scott Kyles, Mashell (Marquis) Adair and Jennifer (Curtis) Green all of Okolona.

Claude Earnest (Ann) Adams of Moss Point, Brenda (Larry) Wright of Houston, MS, Wanda (Lamont) Harper of Wren, Shirley Adams of Houlka, Wayne (Gloria) Adams of Shannon, Leslie Adams-Young of Okolona.

She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins with cherished memories of our beloved Boney.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Annie Katherine Adams, Wilburt Kyles and Zippora Kyles.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer Griffin and Elic Griffin.

A Celebration of Shair's life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Union Grove United Methodist Church in Wren.  A wake will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory from 4-6 PM.
