Terry Scott Mitchell, 51, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born in Amory on August 21, 1973, he was a son to Ellis Thomas and Carol Annette Gray Mitchell. He graduated Hatley High School, Class of 1991, and was employed as a lineman for the past 27 years at Monroe County Electric Power Association. Scott loved anything to do with the outdoors whether hunting or fishing. He loved his girls and loved to spend time with them whether coaching them in softball or traveling, especially to the beach. Scott had a great heart, very generous, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Stanford officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Ellis and Annette Mitchell, Becker; three daughters, Madison Willingham (Jay), Smithville, Macie Gillentine (Aubrey), Amory, Morgan Mitchell, Amory; his brother, Kerry Mitchell (Myra); nephews, Adrian Mitchell (Lindsay) and Austin Mitchell (Emily); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and best friend, Brandon Adams.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kirk and Ludeen Gray, and Author and Lula Mae Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be Aubrey Gillentine, Jay Willingham, Adrian Mitchell, Austin Mitchell, Brandon Adams, and Kevin Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Gray, Josh Ward, Brad Williams, Ritchie Camp, Bobby Camp, and Michael Holley.
Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
