Sarah Ann Gibbs Johnson, 75, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo following a sudden illness. Sarah was born on February 5, 1943 in Nettleton to James Delmer and Mary Delbert Dotson Gibbs. She attended Nettleton schools and later married A.D. Johnson on March 23, 1963. In her early years, she worked as a seamstress at Glenn Manufacturing, and later she kept as many as 20 children in her home. Sarah loved to read and watch cooking programs especially The Pioneer Woman and Paula Deen. Having a love for cooking, she spent many hours in the kitchen preparing meals for her family; however, she was best known for her banana pudding and she spoiled her grandchildren with butter rolls. Having a love for the outdoors, she and her husband enjoyed camping frequently in Grenada with their friends, Roy and Joyce Foster. With a deep love and an abiding faith, in God she raised her children in the way of the Lord and was a member of Bethel Apostolic Church. In addition to her cooking, she also enjoyed working word puzzles.
