Carolina--Sarah Jane Conwill Brown Walden, 83, died on Thursday, July 6, 2018 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on April 16, 1935 in Itawamba County to John and Maudie Shackford Conwill. Mrs. Walden attended the Carolina School and later received her registered nurse degree from Itawamba Junior College. She was married to Rufus Brown and later Pete Walden. She was a member of the Cason Baptist Church and prior to her retirement she worked for over 20 years for Gilmore Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Walden enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and taking care of people.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Pearce and Bro. Joey Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, David Brown (Cathy) of Amory; one daughter, Faye Gann (Perry) of Carolina; one sister, Catherine Mackey of Nettleton; 3 grandchildren, Craig Brown (Dawn), Casey Brown, and Lacey Bridges; 4 great grandchildren, Chelsea Harlow, Alasca Brown, Callie Bridges, and Stormy Bridges; and 3 great-great grandchildren, Zackery, Anna, and Gavin.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roger Dale Brown; her parents; her husbands; one brother, Johnny Lee Conwill; and half-brother, Willie Finney.
Pallbearers will be Noah Wren, Israel Wren, Johnny Brown, Ray Conwill, Paul Chumney, Eugene Conwill, and Dale Mills.
A special thanks is to be given to her caregiver, Melissa Hendrix.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home.
