Sandra Jones

Sandra Gail Minor Jones, 66, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 in Lamar Co., AL.  Sandra was born on August 15, 1957 in Vernon to Preston and Mary Hester Minor.  A graduate of Sulligent High School, she was a homemaker all of her life.  In 1987 she married Jerry Jones and she enjoyed crocheting, crafts, reading and being with her family.  In addition, she liked being outdoors riding on the Ranger, watching a good Western movie, but above all, her greatest love was being a grandmother and spoiling her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Athens Baptist Church.

There will be a memorial visitation from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home.  

She is survived by her son, Tony Shackelford (Angie); daughters, Tamie Sykes (Kerry Joe), Amy Red (Travis), and McKenzie Glasgow; brothers, Donald Minor (Linda); grandchildren, Austin Shackelford, Nick Grimes, Nathan Sykes, Kaitlynn Sykes Lee, Weston Sykes, and Khloe Sykes, Brylei Red, Taelyn, Lachlan, Remy, and Serenity Red; great grandchildren, Hazelyn Shackelford, Temperance Grimes, Valor Grimes, Emmett Sykes, and Emma Sykes; special friends, Don Frost and Teresa Hollifield.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jerry Jones.
