Robert Everette Ritter, 65, died on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at his home. Born May 1, 1951 in Monroe County, he was a son to Eldridge and Reathie Benton Ritter. Everett grew up in Smithville and attended Smithville School. He married Elizabeth Soden in 1980 and prior to his retirement, he worked nearly 30 years at Amwood Products in Amory as a furniture framer and supervisor. His hobbies included fishing and watching TV and he enjoyed visiting with family and friends especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Nettleton Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Ritter will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Larry Davis, Bro. Jordan Davis, and Bro. Mason Lee officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Anne Soden Ritter of Amory; one daughter, Angela Annette Soden Kennedy (Roger) of the Athens Community; one brother, Jimmie Ritter (Betty) of Smithville; 3 sisters, Charlotte Ritter of Amory, Pamela Wesson (Ron) of Mantachie, and Carolyn Wren (Henry) of Mantachie; 4 grandchildren, Elisha Tate, Amanda Bowen, Austin Brown, and Britnie Kennedy; and 4 great grandchildren, Chase Parker, Brianna Tate, Jadus Rivers, and Jaysun Hurley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Bettye Ritter.
Pallbearers will be Jimmie Ritter, John Ritter, Justin West, Scott Wren, Roger Kennedy, Austin Brown, Chase Parker, and Jaysun Hurley.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
