Prudie Iriline Wolfe, 82, died on Monday, February 1, 2016 at her daughter’s residence in the Sipsey Fork Community. She was born March 12, 1933 in Henly, Texas to Charles and Burnice Finch Herwig. She later moved to Austin, TX where she met her future husband, John Wolfe, while he was stationed at Ft. Hood and they were married on December 24, 1955. From then, she was an Army wife and travelled to numerous states and countries keeping her family together. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, Mrs. Prudie was also a homemaker and was known for her exceptional gardening and canning abilities and took great pride in working hard to raise her family even achieving her GED at the age of 51. She was involved with TOPS and her hobbies included cooking, sewing, and fishing. She attended New Center Point Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the New Center Point Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Bradley Long and Bro. Dale Stafford officiating. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 6 at the Sardis Cemetery in Sardis, Tennessee. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one son, John F. Wolfe, Jr. of Saginaw, TX; two daughters, Johnnie K. Wolfe Ford (Kenny) of the Sipsey Fork Community and Nancy L. Wolfe of Sardis, TN; one sister, Sadie Powell of Gordon, TX; 12 grandchildren, Kenny Guy Ford, Jr. (Emily), Stephanie Stafford (Dale), John Daniel Ford (Leslie), Johnathin Wolfe, Sierra Wolfe, Christina Miller Brantley (Chad), Cindy Miller Doyle (Jason), Derek Wolfe, Ashlea Wolfe, Jennifer Milholen, Jacob Barrett, and Charlie Wolfe; 10 great grandchildren, Johnny B. Ford, Lyndsey and Charles Huckaby, Courtney Stafford, Mary Stafford, Megan Brantley, C.J. Brantley, Angelina Doyle, Haley June Tinin, and Levi Tinin ; and a great-great grandson, Andrew Huckaby; and special friends, Nelda Britcher, and Elizabeth Wallace. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Hurbert Herwig and Thomas Herwig; two sisters, Maggie Leisman and Ruth Farmer; and 3 children, Penny Wolfe, Bill Wolfe, and Donnie Wolfe. Pallbearers will be Guy Ford, Daniel Ford, Dale Stafford, Johnathin Wolfe, Chad Brantley, Jason Doyle, Derek Wolfe and Charlie Wolfe. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home and she will lie in state from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.
