Philip Craig Wardlaw, 40, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at his residence. Born on May 16, 1978 in Anniston, AL, he was a son to Eddie Ward Wardlaw and Donna Bennett Stewart. He attended Hatley School and graduated with the Class of 1997 at Amory High School. With and inquisitive mind, Craig loved to read and had aspirations to finish a novel. Along with photography, Craig enjoyed listening to old country music especially Hank, Sr. and Hank, Jr. An avid collector, he had signatures of musicians, and he was fascinated with the Mafia. With a love of family he was also a fun loving and faithful friend, he loved people, and having a good time, Craig could always make you laugh.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Lloyd Sweatt and Bro. Steven Simms officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemtery in Amory.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Stewart (Kent) of Amory; brother, John Wardlaw (Michele) of Smithville; aunts, Cynthia Smith (Frank) of Amory, Faye Finley (Royce) of Nettleton, Cheryl Ward (Herb) of Brandon, and Barbara Funderburg (Dee) of Nashville; grandmother, Ruby Bennett of Nashville; nieces and nephews, Cameron Jordan and Kinsley Wardlaw; a host of cousins and friends; and special friends, Jason and Savannah Reeves of Bartahatchie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Wardlaw; grandparents, Ovie Wardlaw and Obadiah Bennett; and aunts and uncles, Geneva Fowlkes, Pete Wardlaw, Marcelle Riddle, and Betty Burdine.
Pallbearers will be John Wardlaw, Jason Reeves, Bryan Smith, Frank Smith, Jordan Wardlaw, and Cameron Wardlaw.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
