Paula Ann Sumrall Clark, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Oaktree Manor in Amory. She was born in Vardaman on May 3, 1932, to Julian and Jewel Inmon Summerall. She grew up in Vardaman and graduated Vardaman High School and furthered her education at Vaughn’s Beauty College in Aberdeen. A licensed cosmetologist, she worked for 60 years operating in Amory and Wren. She made numerous friends over the years and she enjoyed gardening, yard work, flowers, and plants. Paula loved to cook for her family and enjoyed playing Rook with her friends. She loved to camp, and she was hugely involved in her grandchildren’s lives where they made their afternoon stop. She was a member of Tranquil United Methodist Church, and she was the widow of A.G. Hicks and Murff Clark.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Huguley officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Amory.
She is survived by one son, Paul Hicks (Kimberly Ann) of Moulton, AL; daughter, Deborah Hicks Boggan of Wren; grandchildren, Drew Hicks (Brittany), Robbyn Abedi (Suzanne), Amy Warren (Derek), Nichole Davis (David), and Raina Burks (Evan); a host of nieces and nephews; and close friends, Eleanor Ann Watson, Grace Nowitsky, and Jewel Ann Deadrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, A.G. Hicks and Murff Clark; sisters, Mary Francis, Eleanor, and Myrtie Jo; brother, Travis Summerall; and son-in-law, Steve Boggan.
Family and friends will be pallbearers.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1 until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
