Orbie Dale Ashley

Orbie Dale Ashley, 70, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility.  He was born in Monroe County on September 9, 1951 to the late Robert and Vernie Mae Ashley.  Orbie Dale was a life long resident of Becker and a stranger to no one.  He loved  good trade, whether it be knives, guns, cars trucks or tractors, you could bet that O.D. had it or knew someone that did.  It was often told around that he traded someone a truck for $8 and a cat.  Orbie Dale spent his working career for the City of Aberdeen.  A true character, he will be remembered for many years as a gentle person and friend  who loved a good conversation and a chew of tobacco. 

Orbie Dale is survived by his niece, April Gittleson (Michael), Madison, MS and a multitude of cousins. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Jaybird” Ashley and his sister in law, Eleanor Ashley. 

Services  will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 25 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home from 5-7 PM.
