Nancy Downs Jackson

Nancy Louise Downs Jackson, 75, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at NMMC in Tupelo.  She was born in Collierville, TN on March 15, 1949 to the late Elbert William and Flora Gains Downs.  Nancy was a graduate of Amory High School.  She married Claude Jackson on June 28, 1969.  Nancy worked in the area garment industry as a seamstress and as an inspector in the furniture industry.  Nancy enjoyed going to horse shows, rodeos and taking trips to Amish Communities.  She loved to visit with her relatives and friends but most of all, she took great pride in spoiling her grandson, Jordan.  Nancy was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Claude Jackson, Smithville; daughter, Jennifer Reed, Smithville; sister, Betty Reeves, Fulton; brother, Dennis Vann (Barbara), TN; grandson, Jordan Reed, Smithville.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Greenbrier Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Amos officiating.  Pallbearers will be Chris Harper, Kevin Coleman, Edward Best, Adrian Sligh, John Jackson, Jr., John Sligh and Jerome Cox.
