Mike Ritter

William Michael Ritter, 62, passed away on February 2, 2022 at his residence.  He was born on September 19, 1959 in Amory to William Deryle Ritter and Laverne Griggs Ritter.  Mike graduated high school in Smithville in May 1978.  He had worked at Red Kap and for Tupelo Wastewater Treatment Plant for a number of years.  He enjoyed hunting, baseball, football, and other spectator sports.  He was a fan of NASCAR and he like to watch hunting and fishing.  He was of the Baptist faith.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is honored to assist the Ritter family.

He is survived by a special niece, Terri Ritter and great niece, Breanna Ritter whom he raised as his own; sister, Deborah Ritter Sanders (Eddie); brothers, Anthony W. “Tony” Ritter (Ginger), Tim Ritter (Rhonda), and Truitt Ritter (Carolyn); step-brother, Crafton Laney (Marla); and several other family members, nieces, and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his father, William Deryle Ritter; his mother, Laverne Ritter; his step-mother, Shirley Ritter; and his grandparents, Esmond Truett and Katie Bell Ritter, Robert Bryant Griggs, and Degara Gertrude Webb Griggs.
