Mary Strawbridge

Mary Eudene Cowart Strawbridge, 81, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Amory.  Born on August 14, 1941 in Amory, she was a daughter to Tranny and Mary Frances Hayes Cowart.  She attended Smithville School and then married Lealon Strawbridge in 1973.  Mary worked in the area garment plants before retiring and her hobbies included crocheting and gardening.  She enjoyed her cats and she was a huge fan of Elvis Presley; but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Haughton Memorial Park.

In addition to her husband, Lealon Strawbridge, she is survived by her sons, Mike Owen (Ginger), Steve Strawbridge (Leigh Anne), and Julian Lee Strawbridge all of Amory; daughters, Becky Ray of Aberdeen and Frances Kay Roberts (Monte) of Amory; brother, Lawrences Everett Cowart of Texas; sister, Nora Kay White of Plantersville; grandchildren, Hattie Smith, Ben Owen, David Wise, Shanna Boydstun, Dianna Kilgore, Steven Austin Strawbridge, Brandon Michael Easter, Kenneth Lealon Roberts, Wesley Ray Roberts, Jared Orion Roberts, Caleb Strawbridge, Chase Strawbridge, Nicole Strawbridge, Elizabeth Strawbridge, Julie Ann Strawbridge, and Christy Lee Saunders; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Houston Owen; 2 great grandchildren; and special nephew, Brad Cowart.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from noon until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
