Mary Striplin Carlisle Gray, 68, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mary was born on July 25, 1950 in Alligator, Mississippi to William and Minnie May Striplin. Growing up, she attended school in Tunica and she later married Ed Gray on February 18, 1991. She was a lady of great faith reading and studying her Bible daily. Mary was a master gardener and loved tending to her flowers. Selflessly, she lived her life for her family especially her grandchildren and she always put others’ needs before her own. She was a dedicated wife and homemaker, loved cooking for others, and kept an immaculately clean house.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in the Gray Cemetery in Nettleton.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Gray of Becker; her mother, Minnie Striplin of Amory; 4 sons, Christopher Carlisle (Kandy) of Steens, John Michael Carlisle of Memphis, Mark Gray (Lisa) of Michigan and Shane Gray of Michigan; one daughter, Denise Crocker (Brent) of Starkville; two brothers, William “Bo” Striplin (Sharon) of Water Valley and Joseph Striplin of Aberdeen; one sister, Shirley Hughes of Amory; 21 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Janet Carlisle; one daughter, Michelle Gray; 3 sons, David and Curtis Reed Carlisle and Clark Gray; and a special brother-in-law, Kirk Gray.
Pallbearers will be Shane Carlisle, Blake Carlisle, Bryan McDonald, Terry Stuart; Tony Gray, and Austin Pierce.
Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
