Mary Frances Bennett, age 73, of Amory, Ms, went to meet her eternal reward on July 7, 2018 at Diversicare Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. This announcement made summed up her departure, “Our Merciful Savior has picked a beautiful rose from His garden. Mary Frances Bennett went home to be with the Lord at 1:24 pm on July 7, 2018.”
A passage of scripture found in Proverbs 3:10-31 could not define her life any more. While the passage being lengthy, one verse may sum up her life, “Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” Her strength enabled her to work at such places as Uniroyal (Joliet Army Ammunition Plant-Joliet, Il), the Dairy Kreme in Amory, Ms., as well as, the ability to start and supervise sewing rooms at Action Lane in Tupelo, Peopleloungers in Nettleton, Ms., Bauhaus in Amory and Max homes in Fulton, Ms. Her supervisory methods and styles won her many friends and gained the respect of countless peers.
She was honored by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she invested. Whether at work, or play, she made her family to feel they were her priority. She became intoxicated over a grandchild’s laugh and absorbed each moment to the fullest.
Without question, her greatest fulfillment came in an unquenchable thirst for studying God’s Word and applying it to her life. She maintained a record, which reflected that from the years of 1990 through 2015, she had read the Bible through (58) times. In addition to the previous, we found a log where she would record chapters read, and according to her record, she had logged a total of (140,015) chapters.
While so much more could be said, the word (that she dearly loved and invested her time in studying), will bring her family and friends comfort as stated in Re 14:13, “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
She is survived by her husband, Randell Bennett; daughter, Amanda Bennett Simmons (Anthony), Moulton, AL; son, Darrell Bennett of Amory; sister, Barbara Mathis (Jerry), TN; grandchildren, Josh Bennett, Amber Kennedy, Brooke Stanphill, Cody Bennett, Dustin Simmons, Colton Simmons, Kaitlyn Simmons; 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Ginger Darlene Bennett; 8 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Bethel Apostolic Church with Bishop Coy Hill, Pastor Stanley Blaylock and Pastor Anthony Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Bennett, Cody Bennett, Dustin Simmons, Colton Simmons, Tim Bennett, Brad Crawley and Josh Stanphill.
Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5-8 PM at Bethel Apostolic Church and will continue on Tuesday until the service hour at 2 PM.
