Martha Frances Dill Eeasley, 85, died on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at her home in Amory. Born February 24, 1930 in Monroe County, she was a daughter of Eddie Govan and Effie Maurine Thompson Dill. She grew up in Becker and graduated Becker School. She married Edward Easley in 1948 and moved to Birmingham in 1953. Determined, she went back to school after 40 years to UAB to become a respiratory therapist being awarded the most outstanding student of her class and she worked at Carraway Methodist Medical Center retiring in 1987 and returned to Amory. She was a member of the Hatley Primitive Baptist Church and she enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Elder Tim Cunningham and Bro. Tony Lester officiating. Burial will be in the Hatley Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Edward Easley of Amory; one son, Carl Easley (Linda) of Hebren, KY; one daughter, Sherry Smith (Andy) of Amory; one sister, Kathy Hodges (Harold) of Algoma; three grandchildren, Bart Smith (Brooke), Beth Smith, and Joy Smith; 3 great grandchildren, Abbey and Sadie Bishop, Emma Kate Smith, and Ian Cullen; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mark Shields, Ronnie Lester, Joel Hendricks, Mike Baughman, Ricky Lester, Robin Smith, and Bret Baughman. Honorary pallbearers will be Bart Smith, David Easley and Dale Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters and three infant children.
Visitation will be 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home and will continue until service time on Friday.
