Marilyn Sue Knight Rogers, 63, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory. She was born on October 20, 1956 in Clarksdale to Burton and Jewell Faulkner Knight. She was a graduate of Nettleton High School and she had worked in the area furniture plants before becoming a full-time homemaker. On February 14, 1984 she married Keith Rogers. Marilyn was an exceptional cook and enjoyed cooking for her family while her health allowed. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, sewing and, crossword puzzles but her passion was in spoiling her grandchildren. In her early years, she influenced countless young people through her work at church camp and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Rodney Waycaster officiating. Visitation will follow after the service. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Rogers of Algoma; three daughters, Crystal Way (Jay) of Amory, Jennifer Morris (Wade) of Smithville, and Daisy Evans (Thomas) of Amory; three brothers, Doug Knight (Sharon) of Nettleton, Bruce Knight of Tupelo, and Ronnie Knight of Pontotoc; one sister, Mary Keller of Starkville; grandchildren, Lila Clayton, Elizabeth Oliver, Candace Oliver, Brayden Morris, Addison Morris, Molly Morris, Grady Irvin, and Lily Irvin; and a hos t of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Burtee Knight, sister, Carolyn Wilbanks; and her mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Buddy Waycaster.
