Lucian “Lulu” Barnes Sumrall, 32, died on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born in Tupelo on March 5, 1983 to Joey and Donna Devall Barnes. She grew up in Amory and was a 2001 graduate of Hatley High School. Before becoming disabled she was the manager at Wendy’s in Amory. Lulu was full of life and she displayed that with having a love for classic rock music, painting, and other crafts. Above all, she loved Jesus and loved her daughter, Alyssa. Lulus’s time was best spent by riding around all night long listening to music considering it an adventure. Singing and dancing were a passion and she loved to watch older classic television shows. Having been baptized at Cason Baptist Church she was attending LifePointe Church. Her last request was that you would attend her funeral in casual dress.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Rob Westbrook officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include her parents, Joey and Donna Barnes of Smithville; daughter, Alyssa Sumrall of the home; one brother, Joseph W.V. Barnes stationed in Hawaii; one sister, Traci Devall Fuoss (Ted) of Mantachie; aunts, Jonell Powell (David) of Sallis, MS and Debbie Leslie (Steve) of Tampa, FL; and her two closest and best friends, Amanda and Stacy Allred.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lee and Gena Devall; Nellie Fay Patterson; and Joe Barnes; great aunt and uncle, Mary Frances and Bill Langford.
Pallbearers will be David Powell, Ted Fuoss, Joe Holloway, Alan Morgan, Randall Allred, and David Powell, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Andew Botts and Mark Pace.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
