Louis Mosley

August 2, 1947 — February 3, 2025

Amory

Louis Marlon Mosley, 77, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 2, 1947 in Cleveland, MS to Haley and Frances Hutchinson Mosley. Louis married the former Melissa Hall and during his battle with cancer, he was blessed to have Melissa by his side as a loving, caring, and wonderful wife. Louis was a graduate of Cleveland High School and attended Delta State University. He joined the United States Air Force in 1968 and made it a career retiring in 1988. While in the Air Force, Louis traveled the world serving in Europe and Asia. He is a Vietnam veteran where he served for one year. He received numerous medals including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. After retiring for the Air Force, he moved back to Cleveland before making his way to Amory. Working in the furniture industry as a warehouse and shipping manager, he held the same position when he began at Holley Performance Products in Aberdeen. Louis enjoyed all sports and was an avid golfer playing in Aberdeen where he met so many of his close friends. While stationed in Cheyenne, WY, Louis was elected state director for the United Slo-Pitch Softball Association. He loved to walk every day, and he would use that time to talk and pray to the Lord. Louis lived his life for God, letting the love and light of Christ radiate from his life. One of his favorite scriptures is from Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you.” He served the Lord at Meadowood Baptist Church and was on the Senior Adult Committee and Bereavement Committee. While serving the bereavement meals, Frank and Susan Owen always brought chicken livers, and it is Louis’ desire to see Bro. Lloyd get his share of the livers. Words will never be sufficient to describe the love Louis had for his God, his dedication to family and friends. Louis wants to thank his church family, whom he loved so much, for being there for him each and every day with their love and prayers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2024 at Meadowood Baptist Church with Bro. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Turon Cemetery. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
