Lois Comer Sloan

Lois Mae Comer Sloan, 82, passed away on November 28, 2023 at the NMMC in Tupelo.  She was born July 13, 1941 to the late William David and Mamie Dove Comer.  Lois graduated from Hatley School, Class of 1959.  She was an exceptional cook and ran the cafeteria at True Temper Sports for several years.  She also ran a route selling biscuits and sweets to the eployees of the area industries. To her many friends and family it was always a joy to have a seat at Lois's table and she was able to share her love for others by cooking for them.  She also baked cakes for many weddings and birthdays.  Lois dearly loved her family and always took time to make each one feel special, especially her grandchildren.  She instilled in them the importance of faith and a relationship with the Lord.  The memories of our "Mawg" will continue to live on and be cherished by the generations to come.

Lois is survived by her children, Kenneth Anthony Sloan, Lisa Sloan Goodman (Rick), Bobby Sloan, Angie Sloan Holloway (Coye); grandchildren, Chuck Moffett (Heather), Jake Moffett (Erica), Daniel Seth Sloan (Leeah), Kathryn McTaggart (Lucas); Alan Holloway (Allyson), Sydney Bryan (Matthew) and Evan Sloan;  great grandchildren, Alexis and Taylor Moffett, Madison and Carlie Moffett, Aquilis and Ronan Sloan, Abigail and James McTaggart, Braylen and Aiden Holloway and Emilee Bryan; a host of nieces and nephews and the many friends who became her family at Oak Tree Manor in Amory.

In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her brothers, Don and Albert Comer; granddaughter, Beverly Dawn Moffett; infant sister, Earnestine Comer.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Chuck Moffett officiating.  Pallbearers will be Coye Holloway, Jake Moffett, Dan Sloan, Alan Holloway, Evan Sloan and Lucas McTaggart.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 9 at the funeral home from 5-7 PM.
