Linda Worthey

Linda Grace Gregory Worthey, 74, died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her home following a recent illness. Born on June 29, 1943, she was a daughter to Lowell and Grace Ausborn Gregory. A graduate of Amory High School class of 1961, she had worked in the area garment industry and for Mississippi/Itawamba Gravel Company and she married Doyle Worthey. A member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ, for the past 40 years Mrs. Worthey served as the church secretary. She was an honorary Lady Bug and she enjoyed crocheting and caring for others. Her favorite pasttime was to open up her home for family and church fellowships, especially for the youth. Actively involved with Worthey Tree Farm, she will be missed. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Christian Chapel Church of Christ with Minister Marshall Eubanks officiating. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her son, Lowell Worthey (Linda J.) of Hatley; one sister, Sherian Humphreys (Dale) of Smithville; two grandchildren, Carter Worthey and Alaina Worthey; aunt, Hazel Glasscock of Oklahoma; and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband. Pallbearers will be the elders of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. The deacons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She will lie in state from noon until service time on Thursday at the church.
