Amory- Lillie Mae Shields, 75, died Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Community Hospice Darlington Oaks in Verona. Born September 17, 1939 in Houston, MS she was a daughter of James Dolph Mixon and Beulah Davis Mixon ana married Frank Shields. She attended school in Houston, later moving to Texas where she worked as a Dietician at LaHacienda Treatment Center. Along with her husband Frank, they owned and operated Shields Communications. Moving back to Amory, she was known as the smiling face behind the counter at Pickle’s Handi Mart in Hatley. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flower beds and being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Landreth (Craig), Greenwood Springs and Dana Shields Lockhart (John), Amory; sons, James Sloan (Sheila), Spring Branch, TX and Terry Sloan, Amory; brother, Rudolph Mixon, Houston; grandchildren, Nikie Schniebs, Lisa Brooks, Stephanie Guyton, Stacey Sloan, Chris Sloan, Erin Fitzhugh, Ryan Landreth, T.J. Shields, Hailey Landreth and Cole Long; 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by sons, Steve Sloan and Paul Shields and several brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Honary pallbearers will be John Micheal Howell, Nathan Murff and Seth Rollins.
Visitation will be Saturday evening at the funeral home from 5-8 PM.
