Leon Steele

Leon Verlon Steele, 65, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Diversicare in Amory.  Leon was born on March 25, 1958, to Verlon Leon and Eva Joyce Lee Steele and he was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.  He married the former Robin Gray on October 26, 1981, and he worked at Amory Garment Company for many years before retiring.  He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and his hobbies included gardening and attending church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Jamie Stark officiating. 

In addition to his wife, Robin Steele, he is survived by his son, Calvin Steele (Beth) of Amory, one daughter, Elaine Steele of Amory; two brothers, David Steele (Lisa) of Shannon and Robert Steele of Smithville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell Gray, Tammy Morgan, Hannah Reed, and Ricky Gray; and two grandchildren, Branxton Allen Steele and Payton Steele.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
