Leamond ‘Bugs’ Roberts, Jr., 71, died on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen. Born on February 4, 1947 in Smithville, he was a son to Leamond Clover Chester “Dub” and Geveva Vines Roberts. Growing up in Smithville, he graduated Amory High School and married Elizabeth Riddle. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Amory Garment Company as a shipping clerk, Metalloy Corporation, and MTD. A master gardener, Mr. Roberts looked forward to planting season and he enjoyed harvesting and giving away the fruits of his crop along with working with his chickens. An avid football fan, he particularly enjoyed the New Orleans Saints. He loved making people laugh and his dry sense of humor will be sorely missed. He attended the Hatley Primitive Baptist Church and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson.
