Kelly Anderson, 47, went home to spend eternity with her Savior after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on January 7, 1969 to Joyce Sykes and she was a graduate of Saltillo High School. After working many years in the furniture industry, Kelly entered the nursing program at Itawamba Community College in 2007 and graduated with an associate’s degree in nursing in 2009. She began working as a trauma nurse at the University Medical Center in Jackson and later worked in the emergency room at the Merit Health Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. A very compassionate nurse, her example of dedication and a hard worker was evident to all who knew her and she will also be remembered as a devoted mother and “Nana.” She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Danny Burks officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Fellowship Cemetery.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Chelsea Latoshia Anderson of Pearland, TX; Emily Victoria Anderson Derrick (Justin) of Amory, and Kimberly Michelle Anderson Campbell (Cody) of Amory; one son, Derik Anderson of Clinton, MS; four brothers, Alan Myhand, Ronnie Bean, Thomas Myhand, and Robbie Bean; 4 sisters, Margaret Jones, Darlene Myhand, Tina Baswell, and Lise’ Lindsey; grandchildren, Cameron Matthew Anderson, Rilee’ Renee’ Anderson, Brenton Andrew Derrick, John Welsey Anderson, and Sophie Kimber Campbell, Baby Girl Campbell; parents-in-law, David and Nancy Anderson; and special friends, Eric Anderson, Marissa Senneff of Clinton and Robert Kirksey.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Myhand; her mother; and husband, Stephen Hatcher.
Pallbearers will be Justin Derrick, Cody Campbell, Jamie Hooks, Bobby Baswell, Rob Moore, and Pate Hall. Honorary pallbearers with be the Gilmore ER staff and Medstat Ambulance Service.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
