Kathy Darlene Thompson Baucom, 54, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Merit Health Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. Born February 12, 1963, she was a daughter of Lewis and Mary Helen Ross Thompson. She had worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier and most recently worked for Pickle’s Drive Inn. She enjoyed yard work, cooking, flower gardening, and listening to music especially Credence Clearwater Revival. She loved her time spent with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro Chuck Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in Maxey Cemetery in Smithville.
Survivors include one son, Wesley Hacker of Smithville; one daughter, Layce Reedwood of Columbus; 3 sisters, Vicky Weatherby (Wayne) of Smithville, Allene Morgan of Smithville, and Kelly Thompson; 6 grandchildren, Austin Hacker, Haley Harper, Gaige Downs, Raylyn Downs, Kaylee Edwards, and Kody Hacker; and Curtis Morgan of Smithville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Howell, Benny, and Darwin Thompson; and two sisters, Danice Mason and Susan Elam.
Pallbearers will be Pat Patterson, Kevin Coleman, Corey Carter, Shawn Kensey, Scott Downs, and Derek Thompson.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home.
