Kathleen Belk

Wren- Florence Kathleen Whitaker Belk, 79 passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Amory. Born in Monroe County, Mississippi on July 19, 1940, she was a daughter of Florence Whitaker and Elvien Whitaker. Florence married Gayron Belk on March 28, 1970 and was a Homemaker all of her life. She was an excellent cook who delighted in spending time with her family. Her hobbies included camping, working outdoors, and caring for her beloved dog Bear. A kind and warm person, she was a lover of all living things. Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years, Gayron Belk of Wren; Daughter, Donna Harlow (John) of Amory; and Stepson, Todd Belk of Belmont; sisters, Ruth Perkins (James), Philadelphia and Patricia Brooks (Jim), Meridian; grandchildren, Brian Robinson (Jaclyn), Tupelo and Chris Harlow (Ally), Amory; great grandchildren, Molly and Abby Harlow and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Florence and Elvien Whitaker, her brothers; J.T Whitaker, O’Neal Whitaker, and Author Whitaker, her sisters; Manarie Williams, Joyce White, and Sally Holcomb. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Matt Hill and Bro. James Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Amory Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jon Donovan, Henry Humble, Eddy Pennington, Larry Colburn, Mike Perkins, and Kenny Flippo. Honorary pallbearers will be Rayburn Pennington, Billy Sizmore, Greg Pennington, Junior Pickle, David Lee Carter, Russell Maize, Russell Lamb, and Sylvester Pack.
