Joyce West Doster, 87, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo following a brief illness. She was born on May 11, 1934 in Monroe County to Will Ed and Rena Leeolen Franklin West. She attended Becker and Aberdeen schools and married William Dee “WD” Doster with whom she loved to travel. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the area garment industry and she also delivered flowers for Green’s Blossom Shoppe. Considered the rock of her family, she was a devoted wife and mother who loved to take care of her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a longtime member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Elder Tim Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatley Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Mike Doster (Darlene) of Smithville; one daughter, Brenda Doster Pennington (Michael Gordon) of Amory; two sister, Maureen Howell of Athens; and Shelby Westbrook of Amory; grandchildren, Sharlee Pennington and Cole Doster; great grandchildren, Ayden and Alice; and Nick and Raven; a host of nieces and nephews; her special friends, Hoyt and Shirley Jordan; Jim Fowler; Earl Green; and Hayden Minich whom she loved as a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, WD Doster; a cousin, Beatrice Tubb; and brother, William West.
Pallbearers will be Mike Riley, Robby Westbrook, Jeff Westbrook, Tommy Minich, Hayden Minich, and Van Rogers.
Visitation will be on Monday from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
