Johnny Pounds

Johnny William Pounds, 71, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center—Gilmore in Amory.  Born on September 30, 1951 in Monroe County to J.W. and Earline Rector Pounds.  He grew up in the Bigbee Community and graduated from Amory High School in 1969.  For many years, he worked as a very talented, self-employed carpenter.  Johnny enjoyed playing golf and he was a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves.  

Services will be planned at a later date.  

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Brown Pounds of Amory; two sons, Jake Pounds (Courtney) of Muscle Shoals, AL and Jon Pounds of Tupelo; two daughters, Rachel Pounds of Amory and Rebecca Pounds of Amory; and his grandchildren, Cayeleigh Beth Pounds, Marty Joe Fowlkes, and Magnolia “Maggie” Hinds.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Trimm, Jerry Rector, Ronnie Pounds, and Wade Pounds; and sister, Jeanette Carol Browning.
