Jimmy Galloway

Amory- Jimmy Henry Galloway, 81, died Monday, July 23, 2018 at his residence. Jimmy was born June 26, 1937 in the Randolph Community to Donnie and Ludie Garner Galloway. He married Linda Jones on February 21, 1959. In a career that would span over 50 years, Jimmy was an accomplished truck driver and received numerous safety driving awards. Along with his love for truck driving, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting, restoring antique furniture and growing some of the best tasting watermelons around. Another passion was collecting old coins and buying special coins for his grandchildren. His family and relationship to God were the most important areas of his life. He attended Bethel Apostolic Church. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Linda Galloway; daughter, Darla Vance (Earl), Smithville; sons, Dale Galloway, Amory, Dennis Galloway (Joyce), Amory and Doug Galloway (Sherry), Fredericktown, MO; sister, Mattie Warren, Olive Branch; grandchildren, MeLinda Galloway, Amory, Amanda Long (Jamie), Amory, Ryan Galloway, Ironton, MO, Chad Galloway (Alyssa) Dallas, TX, Austin Galloway, Amory, Kristina Sawyer (Sam), Smithville, Destyne Pickens (Justin) New Albany, Addison Galloway and Shyann Lawler of Fredericktown, MO; great grandchildren, Emily, Lynzi, Nicole, Josh, Avery, Aubrey, Haven, Itaylia, Ariana, Wyatt and Delia; special friends Rev. Coy Hill and Bill Barnhouse and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 5 brothers, Leroy, Hermon, Carmon, Harmon and John Galloway and a daughter in law, Pam Galloway. Funeral Services will be at 3 PM Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Bethel Apostolic Church with Rev. Stanley Blaylock and Rev. Coy Hill officiating. Burial will follow at 5:45 PM in the Oak Forest Cemetery in the Randolph Community. Pallbearers will be Austin Galloway, Chad Galloway, Jamie Long, Sam Sawyer and Steve Sawyer.
