Jerry Brown, 71, died on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his home. Born October 3, 1943 in Trenton, New Jersey, he was a son of Belton A. Brown and Novia O. Powell Pennington. Before his retirement, he worked as an electrical engineer in the manufacturing industry traveling extensively with his job. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Frankfurt, Germany during the Vietnam Era and he was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the East Fulton (White Church) Cemetery in Fulton with Bro. Jim Jones officiating. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Scott Allen Brown of North Carolina; one daughter, Stacy Miles (Jason) of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 4 sisters, Brenda Weathersby (Larry) of Caledonia, Karen Pipkin (Eddie) of Amory, Kathy West of Hamilton and Linda Vandiver (Doyle), Smithville; two grandchildren, Kylee and Ashley Miles; an uncle, James Brown of Paradise, CA; and special friends, Ricky and Judy Adams and Eugene and Sharon Haney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Keith Pennington; one brother, Tony Brown; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy West.
Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
