Jeanette Cantrell, 85 departed this life for the eternal life in Huntsville, AL on Thursday, June 13, 2019 due to an automobile accident. Jeanette was born in Houlka, MS to the late William Roy and Lera Smith Turner on August 12, 1933. She graduated from Becker High School, receiving the Citizenship Award. On February 17, 1956 in Monroe County, she married the love of her life, Voy L. Cantrell making their home there until they were called home. Jeanette worked for several years at Amory Garment, retiring to become a homemaker, devoting her life to taking care of her husband. She enjoyed her animals and loved serving her family. She was a member of Bigbee Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Rollind (James); nephews, Steve Turner (Pam) of Amory, Kenny Bailey of Amory and John Seymore (Brittany) of Nettleton; nieces, Sharon Harris (Rickey) of Calhoun, GA, Sheila Wigginton of Nettleton, Angela Doty (Roman) of Tupelo, Suzette Bishop (Jeff) of Caledonia and a host of great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Voy Cantrell; brother, Lester Turner; 3 sisters, Marie Bailey, Geraldine Ritter and Carolyn Seymore.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 17, 2019 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Dempsey Roland officiating. Burial will follow in Amory Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Bailey, Steve Turner, Ricky Harris, Jeff Bishop, Matt Turner and John Seymore.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
