Jason Palmer

Jason Michael Palmer, 38, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Jason was born in Amory on May 26, 1986 to John Michael Palmer and Mary Alene Cantrell Moreland. He attended Hatley High School and had worked at Huddle House in Amory. Currently, he was working at Wal-Mart for the past 8 years and was always willing to help any time you saw him. Jason was a hard worker with a big heart who could light up a room and would give the shirt off his back for anyone who needed. Spending time with his friends and family is what he loved to do most, along with playing video games. He loved to cook and was very artistic. An avid spectator of football and NASCAR, he was a walking encyclopedia of players’ statistics. He attended Grace Fellowship Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour.

He is survived by his father, John Michael Palmer (Sheila), Amory; mother, Mary Moreland (Don), Amory; brothers, Matthew Palmer (Brittany) and Marc Palmer; step-brothers, Jake McCollum (Miranda), and Jonathan Moreland; step-sisters, Shandi Fisher (James) and Sheena White (P.J.); nieces, Bailey Holloway, Jenna Palmer, and Bailey Vaughn; nephew, Johnny Vaughn; special uncle, Robin Smith; aunts and uncles, Donna Lucas (Dwain), Mike Cantrell (Lisa), David Palmer (Carla), Brenda Middaugh (Richard), Jackie Palmer (Virginia); a host of cousins; and special friends, David Bray, Eric Jones, and Daniel Tubb.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rose and Ed Coker; Betty and W.D. Cantrell, and Shirley Palmer; and brother, Kelly Kirksey.
