James Lloyd Warren, 76 passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Diversicare Nursing and Rehab in Amory. He was born on July 26, 1945 in Amory to John and Josephine Davis Warren. He was a graduate of Amory High School and lived several years in the Fairview Community of Itawamba County before moving back to Amory. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the furniture industry and he was married to Sue Taylor in 1965 who preceded him in death in 2021. James was an avid conversationalist and never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, trading, or just sitting and whittling. James loved music and songwriting and he had done quartet singing in the past. He was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bobby Cleveland and Marshall Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mayfield Cemetery in Saltillo.
He is survived by one son, John Warren (Angie) of Red Bay, AL; adopted daughter, Louise Lawson of Galax, VA; two grandchildren, Cody Lawson (Gabby) and Jeremy Lawson (Mallory); and special nephew, Brian Wouldridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Sue Warren; one brother, Billy Warren; one sister, Peggy Basden; and granddaughter, Katie Warren.
Pallbearers will be Brian Wouldridge, Charlie Whitlow, Anthony Ethridge, Bill Ethridge, and Bruce Ethridge.
Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday.
