James Mills

James Albert Mills, 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  Born on October 20, 1931 in Tupelo, he was a son to James Alton and Eula Mae Vinson Mills.  He graduated from Tupelo High School and married the former Geraldine Harris.  Moving to Memphis in the 1950’s, he drove a bus and trolley for the City of Memphis later moving back to Monroe County.  He worked for Walker Mfg. for 36 years before retiring.  After retirement, he took great pride in keeping an immaculate yard.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Center Hill Cemetery.  Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.  Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45.

He is survived by two sons, James Rodney Mills and Randy Mills (Tina) of Hamilton; grandchildren, Eric Mills, Avery Mills, Rivers Mills, Shane Mills, Chelsea Honeycutt, and Ally Kassemi; great grandchildren, Georgia Kate, Ridge, Bailey, Tru, Victoria, Sophia, Arianna, Serafina, Theodore, Sawyer, and Zev.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine Mills; one son, Ricky Mills; and 2 sisters, Willie Mae Fleming and Hazel Roberts.
