Jim Ellis, 57, died on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville, AL. Born March 26, 1960, he was a son of William Robert, Sr. and Annie Bell Cooper Ellis. Jim grew up in Aberdeen and attended Aberdeen and Okolona schools. He honorably served in the United States Army and prior to his retirement, he worked and was knows as a very talented mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Curtis Taylor officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the New Hope (Coontail) Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughter, Ashley Elrod (Robbie), Katherine Paul (Antonio), and Kayla Ellis all of Anderson, SC; brother, William “Bobby” Ellis (JC) of Harvest, AL; sister, Debra Byrd of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Deshon Smith, Quandarius, Zyon, and Mariah Paul, Sara and Lola Elrod, Quincy and Recus Robison, and Samuel Brown, Jr.; and aunt, Mary Cooper (Rasey) of Phil Campbell, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Ellis, Bo Paul, Deshon Smith, Deshoun Cassibery, Quiandarius Paul, and Trevion Cassibery.
