Iva Nell Hathcock West, 89, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at The Meadows in Fulton. She was born on November 24, 1934 in Monroe County to Brack and Mattie Silas Hathcock. A devoted homemaker, she was retired from McCoy Manufacturing and the widow of Eldon West. She loved to work with her flowers, but most of all, her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She cooked many a Sunday meal after church with family and friends gathered around the table, loving every minute of it. Never too busy, she always tried to do whatever was asked of her. A member of Detroit Baptist Church, she loved to attend the service as often as she could. A lady that will be greatly missed, but we rejoice in knowing she is with the Lord.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Kimble (Rickey) of the Bethlehem Community and Barbara Jones Bethlehem of the Bethlehem Community; her brother, Wilburn Hathcock of Detroit, AL; grandchildren, Lance Murray (Debra), Misty Kennedy (Paul), Shane Murray, April Young, Matt Jones, Jonathan Jones (Kim), Corey Kimble, and Alea Kimble; many great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon West; brothers, Clinton Hathcock (Dorthey) and Hilbert Hathcock (Linda), and Rayburn Hathcock; son-in-law, Burdine Jones; and sister-in-law, Pat Hathcock.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
Visitation will be from 10 until the service hour on Monday at the funeral home.
