Herman Dodds

Herman Dodds, 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center—Gilmore in Amory. He was born on March 8, 1948 in Egypt, MS to Allen, Sr. and Elsie Alice Spruill Dodds. Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years as an automobile mechanic. Herman liked nothing more than to get together with his family for a meal. He loved the outdoors, watching wrestling, and his dog, Scout. He was of the Baptist faith.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the residence of 60149 Parham Store Road, Smithville, MS 38870

He is survived by his wife, Paula Dodds of Aberdeen; one son, Michael Dodds of Aberdeen; two daughters, Michele Jiminez (Jerry) of Aberdeen and Melisa Easter (Tony) of Smithville; two brothers, Douglas Dodds (Ann) of Olive Branch and William Dodds (Carlene) of Detroit, AL; grandchildren, Michael Dodds, Jr. (Brooke), Breanna Elaine Barnhart (Taylor), Ashley Pettis (Kyle), and Lori Harris (Denton); and great grandchildren, Paisley, Adalyn, Sean, Mason, Blaine, Drew and Skyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alan Dodds, Jr., Preston Dodds, and Milton Dodds; and sisters, Martha Andrews and Alice Wilhite.
