Harold Cooper

September 4, 1949 — November 27, 2024

Amory

In the late evening hours of Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Harold Cooper, 75, passed to his eternal home. Born on September 4, 1949, in Amory to J.W. and Hildra Thompson Cooper, he attended Smithville schools and later transferred to Hatley High School where he graduated. He attended Mississippi State University earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Harold was married to the former Sherryel Parham on June 6, 1970. He taught school for one year at Hamilton and then went to work for Harvey Colburn. Later, he was employed by ITT Engineered Valves and True Temper Sports. Prior to his retirement, just this past year, he owned and operated his own accounting firm, preparing income taxes for many people over the years. He was a consummate family man, travelled wherever needed to watch his grandchildren play ball. Harold had a generous and benevolent heart, and he worked quietly to make sure needs were met for those in difficult circumstances, never seeking any recognition for his efforts. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Mr. Leslie Grant and Mr. Brad Blalock officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
